editing techniques of opening sequence

Editing Techniques: Opening sequence

Cutting on action:

When the crazy man is cleaning his tools and then hears Molly scream and walks over to pick up a rock and throw it in front of her just to make her quite and scare her.

Cut away:
Ordinary cut away; for example when the camera was panning across Molly’s characters face it cut to a different scene of the camera panning the tools that belonged to the crazy man.

Fading/ focusing:
When the camera is filming the pin up board, which has many pictures of the character Molly. The camera focusing on to it, which is very effective because it means that the visuals of the audience will be disturbed for a few seconds.

Glitch:
Just before the title “directed by Ellie Trayling”appears theres a quick glitch on the close up of the character Molly.

Fast motion:
The speed up of the clip of when the crazy man was stroking the face of Molly to freak her out.
